GREENSBORO, N.C. – James Guerrier’s unassisted goal 2:59 into overtime lifted visiting DeSales University to an 11-10 lacrosse win over Guilford College Sunday.

The evenly played contest featured eight ties and three lead changes. Guilford (2-2) held the game’s only two-goal advantage after Nick Mann scored from Adam Fiore with 3:19 left in regulation, which opened a 10-8 margin.

The cushion did not last long as DeSales’ Ryan Loughlin tallied from Jared Wiedow at the 1:57 mark of the fourth quarter, which brought the Bulldogs back to within 10-9. DeSales’ Brennan Gmeiner won the ensuing face-off, but the Bulldogs turned the ball over. Guilford returned the favor and DeSales called timeout with 65 seconds left.
