Elon tied for fourth at the 2013 SoCon Indoor Championships with 81 total points. Louise Prevoteau claimed her second consecutive women’s pentathlon title totaling 3,711 points, shattering her previous school record she set earlier in the year at the Liberty Kickoff on Dec. 1.

Freshman Sydney Griffin also earned a league championship after clocking an 8.65 in the 60-meter hurdles. The Marietta, Ga., native headlined a number of strong performances by the Elon freshmen class this season and earned a spot on the SoCon All-Freshman team in the 60-meter hurdles, 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash.

Fellow freshman Megan Kirschling finished second in the high jump at the league championships and earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. Joining Griffin and Kirschling to receive All-Freshman honors were Marie Borowycz (long jump), Caroline McCaslin (one-mile run), Tereza Novotna (3000-meters) and Jennifer Pash (400-meters).

Bria Bell and Charlise Morgan also received All-SoCon recognition at the SoCon meet. Morgan just missed by .02m for the championship title in the shot put after a toss of 46′ 9.5″ (14.26m) and finished as the runner-up. Bell also finished in second place after clocking a 57.14 in the 400-meter run.
