  1. The Southern Alamance at Dudley score was 3-0 in 8 innings. Great game and excellent pitching by both teams.

  2. lose by 8 runs and 3 from the losing team get mentioned but nobody from the WINNING team gets mentioned? just report the score! that’s what matters the most anyway.

  3. birdmania, ever though they may not have the names of the McMichael players? Great job on this site of keeping us informed

  4. birdman has a good point. If you don’t have all of the specifics, just report the score.don’t just report on one side.

  5. Westchester beat Salem Baptist 16-3 in 5 innings. Adam Kirkman was the winning pitcher. Here’s one that probably won’t happen again; Markel Johnson in his first bat of the season and leadoff hitter hit a home run. Last year in his first at bat, first game of season also hit a home run. Markel has signed to play ball at Appalachian State.

  6. Geez, people complain about everything. I’d rather know some stats than none at all. Nothing wrong with recognizing some kids who had good games, even if no one reports what the other team did.

  7. Burlington Williams 5, Rockingham Co. 1, 5 innings. Brandon Riley 4-4 with 2 doubles, triple, 3RBIs. Scott Ellington 2-4 with a double and 2 RBIs. Christian Miles also with 2 hits for Williams. Alan Sharpe pitched 5 innings to get the win, 7 strikeouts. Sharpe also 2-3 with a double and 3 RBIs. Cobb for Rockingham was 2-2.

  8. Bump Martin for McMichael was 2-3 with a walk. The starting pitcher for McMichael Blaine Dalton went 5 innings giving up 3 earned. Lucas Martin was 2-4 with a couple big hits late that drove in several runs.

Birdman get a life. If all you got to do is point out negatives then stay off.

  9. It will keep on getting better and better as we see more batters and batters and pitchers and pitchers…

McMichael has all been good about reporting stats and we will hear from them as the season progresses…

Thanks DROB for the info on the Phoenix….And thanks to all for what you send in….It does make for a fun and informative way to keep up with the teams and the games….

The old coach said “work hard and be patient” and that is the way to go and it will come your/our way…..

Thanks to all that report and we will see you here or there later on tonight…..

  10. Good to see Bump Martin and Lucas Martin back again this year for McMichael…

Enjoyed following their games with the Phoenix last season and it is always fun trying to keep up with their names and what each one did on a given night….Good job guys…

  11. thanks for the mcmichael info drob1211. much appreciated! janbink, you get my point. andy, this is and always has been the best place to get info on the games the newspapers don’t cover. thanks to you! peace!

  12. Some people will always find something to complain about.

Can’t believe that Ragsdale – Parkland score. 30-2?? Has Parkland gotten that bad? It was only about three years ago they upset Ragsdale in the playoffs. 30-2. You just don’t see many varsity scores like that any more. Going to be a really long season in that tough conference for the Mustangs.

  13. Don’t forget the Page Grimsley baseball game tonight. Two close games last year with Page coming out on top in both games. It’s a new year however…

  14. No one is mentioning Ragsdale this morning. Looks like they’ll be TOPS is their conference this year after what I witnessed last night.

  15. Oh yeah, tossing up 30 runs against parkland really seals the deal that ragsdale will finish first in that conference. The PTC is a toss up once again this year, do your homework.

  16. Andy, This is the first time I am seeing most of these players especially in Rockingham County schools. I will say McMichael swung it pretty good. Bump Martin was the leadoff and he was a very tough and had good eye. Lucas was a little more for power but hit it well middle to late in the game. Lucas also came into pitch the last 2 innings and threw pretty good his curve ball broke sharp n off the table last night as I think he ended up with allowing one hit and had like 4 or 5 KO’s. Solid team. I think Eastern will get better and compete.

  17. Agree with unbeatable, laying 30 on Parkland won’t shoot them to the top of the conference. Ragsdale is improved, but when they put 30 on Butler, Swim or Corlette, then they can claim their conference crown. Hate it for Parkland and it won’t get any easier for them next year in the CPC.
