Grimsley struck first scoring two in the third and one in the fourth off Ragsdale starter Duncan Sparks. Ragsdale came back in the bottom of the fourth, converting two walks and a bloop single from Colin Lipke into two runs. The Tigers got the go ahead runs in the fifth. Niko Orfanedes led off with a single, was sacrificed to second and went to third on a Cesar Trejo base hit. He scored on a Matt Horkey sacrifice fly that was pulled in in short left by the shortstop. Trejo went to second, stole third and came home on a wild pitch with the winning run. Nick Corey went 1 2/3 in relief not allowing a hit or a run to pick up the win. Corey Brandenburg pitched a scoreless sixth and after he gave up a leadoff walk in the seventh, Avery Hodges came on to pick up the save. Hodges pitched around a one out error which put runners at second and third. He stranded them by striking out the next to batters to preserve the win.

Next up for Ragsdale is a Piedmont Triad Conference game at home on Friday against Northwest Guilford with a 7:00 PM start. Grimsley will next play at Ben L. Smith on Friday.
