(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — Greensboro College announced that Allison Stack has been named the new Pride volleyball coach. Stack brings seven years of collegiate head coaching experience and a proven track record of building successful volleyball programs to Greensboro.

Stack joins Greensboro after seven seasons as the women’s volleyball coach and six seasons as the men’s volleyball coach at NCAA Division III Baruch College in New York, New York. She also held the title of Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Academic Services.

“Our athletics department is very excited to have Allison Stack joining our team,” said Greensboro College Athletics Director Dan Cetrone. “She has accomplished many great things as the coach for two programs at Baruch, we are hoping to help her make amazing things happen at her new position at Greensboro College.”

During her tenure at Baruch, Stack won six City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) championships – four on the men’s side and two with the women. She is the winningest women’s volleyball coach in Bearcat history, compiling an overall record of 148-101 (.595) with the women, to go along with a 149-63 (.703) record with the men.

On the women’s side, Stack turned the program around – taking a sub-.500 program and guiding it to four 20+ win seasons and two NCAA tournament appearances in her final four years. With the men, she inherited a squad that went 21-18 in 2007 and led the program to five 20+ win seasons, three 30+ win seasons, a national ranking, and trip to the Molten Final Four and NCAA Elite Eight.

The Bearcat women earned CUNYAC Tournament bids in each of Stack’s seven years as coach. The Bearcats reached the tournament finals during the past four years, and won back-to-back conference championships in 2011 and 2012. The 2011 and 2012 teams also advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

The 2012 edition of the Bearcat women went 24-11 overall, with an 8-0 record in the CUNYAC, beating several programs for the first time in school history along the way. In recognition of her efforts, Stack was named the CUNYAC Coach of the Year. She also garnered CUNYAC Coach of the Year honors in 2009, after breaking through for 26 wins and her first CUNYAC championship appearance.

Overall, Stack coached 32 CUNYAC All-Stars, two CUNYAC Rookie of the Years, three American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region honorees and one AVCA All-American Honorable Mention selection with the women.

On the men’s side, Stack ‘s Bearcats went 23-14 in her first season in 2008 before beginning a dominating run of excellence. The Bearcats won their first of four straight CUNYAC titles in 2009 with an overall record of 35-10. The team won 33 games in 2010 – the best in NCAA Division III that season – and 34 in 2011, with Stack earning CUNYAC Coach of the Year recognition. The 2011 team posted a 34-16 record with a run to the Molten Final Four. In 2012, the Bearcats nabbed a bid into the inaugural NCAA Men’s Volleyball Tournament, advancing to the round of eight.

With the men, Stack tutored 19 CUNYAC All-Stars, five All-Region NECVA selections, and four AVCA All-Americans. She also had three players recognized as the AVCA Division III National Player of the Week.
