Ragsdale’s Matt Horkey pitched six strong innings against Parkland in a Piedmont Triad matchup, striking out 12 and only allowing 2 hits. Catcher Avery Hodges had a big night at the plate for the Tigers, collecting 3 hits, 2 of them doubles and driving in two runs.

Ragsdale scored 2 runs in the first inning on only one hit, then added three more in the second as Hodges and Niko Orfanedes had RBI’s.

With Spring break starting tomorrow in GuilfordCounty, Ragsdale will have a few days off before participating in the Bobby Murray Invitational at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, opening up against Millbrook HS on Thursday at 7:00 PM and then facing Raleigh Broughton on Friday, also at 7:00 PM. Parkland will next travel to Glenn on Tuesday, April 9th.

  1. Ragsdale must have had an off night to only score 6 runs against Parkland. Not much to brag about there.

  2. “Struggle” – don’t disagree with you. Tigers aren’t hitting much. Not bragging, just taking the win. Hit a lot of fly balls, 10 in all – 7 to the center fielder, on a night the wind was blowing straight in.
    Parkland played much better defensively than on the 3/7 30-2 Ragsdale victory.

    Don’t read much into it “struggle”, it’ was a win. Bigger games with much more on the line down the road.
