  1. When will SG coach realize having pretty boys on the field won’t win ball games?

  2. From what I was seeing, Southern looked pretty good last night….They have a solid defense and the kid at first base, Evan Edwards I think it is, made some real nice plays from what I could tell/see and I was over there….Got to give some credit to the NEG bats..They got some key hits in key situations and put the ball in play when they had to.

The Milloway kid came up some key hits and Tyler Mericka has been hitting the ball real good as of late for NEG…

That was real close game and a pitcher’s dual early and I felt like both Jacob Watkins and Taylor Sugg, the starting pithcers, did a very credible job….0-0 early stages and then it was 2-0 NEG, then when NEG went up 4-0, it started to get away….SG responded, but they didn’t have enough….Fine hit or hits by Ryan Hedrick, but at the one stage where Watkins of NEG tired, he got strong again, before he gave way to Reed Jenkins for the finish….

I think baseball as a whole is down a little bit around here this year….In the area, I had seen nothing but blowouts until last night….

For the most part, that was the best game that I had seen this season….Most of the games that I had been seeing had been 13-1, 12-2, 10-0, 14-7 and so on and so on….

SG is not bad at all and to me their program is really coming along, but as in all things sports, you have to let the coaches do their jobs…

Western Guilford is playing who their schedule shows/dictates them to play…They are not scheduling cupcake games, it just so happens as we were saying earlier, the teams have been way down this year in many cases…..You play who is on the schedule and go by what the tournament directors have set up for you…You don’t go tell them, I want to play this team first, they let you know who you will play…

Dudley was down after last night’s vs. EG, but they have some promise with their young Panther players….

Corey Kimber of Dudley, now in the San Diego Padres organization, had Tommy John’s surgery this past week and he will be on the shelf for the entire season….

You never know what hand of cards you will be dealt, so you better be ready to go on the fly….

For my money, the early innings, with Jacob Watkins(NEG) and Taylor Sugg(SG) throwing, were as good as you can get early in this season….

It was very cold with the ground still being a bit wet and that will get your feet raal cold, but it kept me around for the entire game and no disrespect toward Coach K, Seth Curry, Mason Plumlee, Quinn Cook and the Duke Blue Devils and I watched all of those kids play in high school at one time or another, but I would have much rather been watching our local kids last night, SG vs. NEG and it was good time to be down in Sumner for the whole/entire game…

Just some evaluation this morning with wordiness, but there it is for all…

  3. You look at some of those names that we had around here last year, and it really stresses may point….

Corey Kimber, Brandon Burkes, Keaton Haack, Dallas Newton, Craig Jacobelli, Blake Butler, Jaylin Davis, Caleb McCann, Jacob McCann, Josiel Colon, Brandon Ahrens, Sean Geoghean, Matt Orth is out with injury, and there are others that we are leaving out, but that is quite a crop of players that are no longer in the county system….

We have to establish our new crop and we mentioned several kids above and you can add in Hansen Butler, Trevor Gay, Adam Swim, Cody Ezell, Matt Horeky, Jackson Bellenkes, Marcus Shoemaker, Nino Marrero, Adam Foster, Nic Schofield, Brendan Nail and we many others that can go with them, those are some of the veterans and we must establish this new crop of players and develop a bumber crop.

Mentioning a lot of good names and throw some of your own in for good measure…

  4. As always, hope to hear from some of the coaches too, about names that show up on our lists and they are making the final calls for their lineups and their teams…

  5. I agree SG is pretty good. It’s the attitudes that will kill them. Evan Edwards did have a few good plays but so did the second baseman, Austin Kallam and the third baseman, Camden Ball. They win as a team and lost as a team.

  6. Very good effort by the SG defense last night and they made sevearl very good plays along that infield….

Good quick release by all three of the young men that you mentioned and good points brought up by about their work turned in on Friday night….

No room for attitudes on any team and if they hit they will stick out like a sore thumb and I haven’t seen them from SG….These kids haven’t experienced enough success to develop an attitude at this point and I don’t see it coming, but if it does I feel the coaches can handle it….They will take care of any necessary attitide adjustments…

Another big day of baseball due today at Southern Guilford….Game One at 5pm and Game Two due to start at just after 7:30pm, or least that is the plan…

  7. TO JUST SAYING..JUST WONDERING WHO YOU SEEM TO THINK HAS AN ATTITUDE FROM SG? I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING BUT GOOD ATTITUDES FROM THESE BOYS. ALWAYS ENCOURAGING EACH OTHER WHEN ERRORS ARE MADE AND ALWAYS CONGRATULATING OTHERS WHEN GOOD THINGS HAPPEN. SO IT SOUNDS LIKE TO ME YOU ARE THE ONE WITH THE ATTITUDE. MAYBE YOU HAVE A KID ON THE TEAM AND SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED THAT YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH, BUT NONE THE LESS THERE ALWAYS HAS TO BE SOMEONE TRYING TO STIR UP TROUBLE. IT IS PRETTY SAD WHEN SOMEONE FROM YOUR OWN TEAM IS MAKING NEGATIVE COMMENTS. SG STORM HAS SOME GREAT TALENT AND THESE PRETTY BOYS ARE ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER AND BETTER. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE WILL HELP YOU WITH AN ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT…JUST SAYING.
