SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon women’s tennis’ Frida Jansaker has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for all matches played March 25-31. Jansaker went 4-0 last week in singles and double play as the Phoenix earned conference wins on the road at Georgia Southern and College of Charleston.
Jansaker extended her unbeaten streak in singles play to four matches after posting wins over GSU’s Jordana Klein (6-1, 6-4) and CofC’s Kelly Kambourelis (6-4, 6-1) at No.2 singles. All four victories, and 11 of her 13 this spring, have come in straight sets for the Kristianstad, Sweden, native.
In doubles action, Jansaker teamed with Jordan Johnston in the No. 1 spot and went 2-0 last week against the top teams from GSU (8-2) and CofC (8-3). The top Phoenix duo is now 13-2 in dual matches this spring.
The Phoenix returns to the courts on Saturday, April 6, when it visits Wofford.
