College Golf News – Guilford’s Ratner Named ODAC Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Guilford College senior Noah Ratner (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) collected the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s (ODAC) Men’s Golfer of the Week Monday. Ratner earned the honor for the fourth time this season and the 13th time in his illustrious career.

Ratner shot 73-68-141 at the Emory Spring Invitational April 1-2 in Atlanta. His three-under-par score placed third in the 78-man field, which included eight teams ranked in the March 27 Golf World/Nike Golf Division III Coaches’ Poll. His round of 68 marked the second-lowest score in the 36-hole tournament and his third sub-par round of the season. Ratner’s play helped Guilford climb two spots on the final day and place fifth in the talented 15-team field.

Ratner leads the ODAC with a 72.80 strokes per game average. He has six top-10 finishes in nine events this year and has not placed lower than 16th. The defending NCAA Division III Player of the Year, Ratner is ranked seventh in the April 4 Golfstat.com Division III Head-to-Head Player Standings.

Coach Corey Maggard’s club is ranked 11th in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Poll and eighth in the April 3 Golfstat.com NCAA Division III Relative Ranking. The Quakers are off until April 21-23 when they look to defend their ODAC title in Cape Charles, Va.
