GC Women’s Lacrosse Earns Four Spots on USA South All-Conference Team

Pride women’s lacrosse players Brittany Ziobro, Kirstin Norris, Kendra Allbritton, Melissa Townsend and Jordan Balasus earned USA South All-Conference recognition on Wednesday.

Ziobro, Norris and Allbritton were each selected to the First Team, as Greensboro tied for second with the most players to garner those honors. Townsend hauled in Third Team honors, while Balasus represented The Pride on the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Ziobro had another stellar season in her final year with Greensboro, leading the conference in goals with 58. The Winter Park, FL native ranks second in assists with 32 and total points with 90. Ziobro is nearing single season school records of 61 goals and 98 points with at least one postseason game remaining.

Norris broke onto the scene in a big way during her debut campaign with The Pride. A native of Bushwood, MD, Norris scored 30 goals and added four assists for 34 points. She placed third in the USA South in draw controls won with 70 and led the team with 35 ground balls.

Allbritton, a senior from Lake Mary, FL, helped anchor a Greensboro defensive unit that ranked third in the USA Souh during conference play in goals against average. In total, Allbritton caused 20 total turnovers, placing her 13th overall in the conference.

Townsend, a junior from Orlando, FL, also provided a solid defensive presence for The Pride. For the year, she picked up 15 ground balls and caused nine turnovers for one of the top units in the USA South.

Balasus, a freshman from Dagsboro, DE, finished the year with five goals on eight shots and dished out one assist for six total points.
