Gabe Dimock(Grimsley HS/Appalachian State) Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week and will face UNCG this weekend

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gabe Dimock(Greensboro Grimsley High School), a senior on the Appalachian State baseball team, has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for April 10, the league office announced today.

In his first full week as a starter, Dimock hit .400 (6-for-15) in four games. The senior hit safely in a four games and had multiple hits in wins over Georgia Southern (2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored ) and UNC Asheville (2-for-5 with an RBI). Despite being a part of the program for four years, Dimock did not see game action until he replaced starting catcher Josh Zumbrook in the lineup when Zumbrook sustained an ankle injury versus Wofford on March 31.

The exercise science major from Greensboro, N.C.(Grimsley HS), currently holds a 3.84 GPA.

Also nominated were Davidson men’s track’s Andrew Lantz and Western Carolina baseball’s Preston Hatcher.
