GC Men’s Golf in Four Strokes Off Lead After Day 1 at USA South Championship

The Greensboro College men’s golf team is tied for fourth following day one action of the USA South Championship on Friday afternoon. The Pride finished the round four strokes off the lead with a team score of 313.

Chris Cox and Gregory Pappas led Greensboro with an 18-hole score of 77 on the par-72, 6,547 yard Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, NC. Nick Peoples followed one shot back at 78, while Scott Novicki and John Grimes each recorded a score of 81.

Christopher Newport leads the overall field at 309. Averett and Methodist are tied for second at 312.

Greensboro will hit the course again on Saturday for day two of the three day tournament.
