College Women’s Lacrosse Final – Guilford 19, Roanoke 15

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Lily Colley scored seven goals and two assists in Guilford’s College’s first women’s lacrosse win over Roanoke College in school history Wednesday.

Teammate E’leyna Garcia netted four of her five goals in the second half of the Quakers’ (14-1, 8-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference) comeback victory, which extended the team’s winning streak to a school-record 13 games. Guilford’s Eleanora Keene also scored five goals, including the go-ahead tally with 8:10 left in regulation. The game-winner and Garcia’s four scores came during a decisive 7-2 Quakers’ run to end the game.

Roanoke (8-7, 7-2 ODAC) had won the previous 28 women’s lacrosse meetings in the series, which dates to 1985.

Guilford closes the regular season at home Saturday (4/20) versus Washington and Lee University at 2:00 p.m.
