In case you missed it:Howard West leaving WS Reagan and going to coach hoops at Forsyth Country Day

from the Winston-Salem Journal and www.journalnow.com:

Howard West — a veteran who spent the past eight years at Winston-Salem Reagan, led WS Reynolds to three consecutive NCHSAA 4-A championships (1999-2001) and has more than 700 victories in a 44-year career — was hired last Friday as the coach at Forsyth Country Day School. He replaces Jack McHale, who resigned last month.

West, 66, said he will retire from teaching in the public schools and that his last day at Reagan will be June 30.

According to Coach Andy Muse at Mount Tabor, Coach West has repeatedly trashed FCD and the private schools in the past and had really lashed out at the privates for their 5th-year senior rule….Coach West says he has seen the light and he has changed his ways and his feelings toward the private schools and now he will the lead the Furies of Forsyth Country Day into the 2013/2014 PACIS(Piedmont Athletic Conference for Independent Schools) season, plus now Coach West will have to lock horns with Coach Freddy Johnson(GDS), Coach Keith Gatlin(WES) and Coach Brandon Clifford(HPCA)….The PACIS just got a whole lot more interesting and business is about to start picking up around here, as Mr. Dusty Rhodes used to say….
