The all-district squads are comprised of softball student-athletes from NCAA III institutions in the 10-state area from Virginia to Mississippi. Nominees were starters or important reserves of sophomore academic standing or above who maintained at least a 3.3 grade point average. First Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Cutright, a 5-9 catcher and first baseman, posted the third-highest batting average in school history (.438) in her senior season. She ranks fourth among Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) batting leaders through games of Apr. 29 and 107th in NCAA Division III through contests of Apr. 28. Cutright also collected six homers, 11 doubles, 31 RBI and 11 walks, all team and career highs. Her .500 on-base percentage stands fourth among ODAC leaders and third in school history. She is seventh in the league in doubles and slugging percentage (.696). The slugging percentage sits third in school history.

A team captain, Cutright had a team-high 10 games with at least two RBI and 14 multiple-hit contests. She was 4-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI in an Apr. 3 win over Salem College and combined for three homers and five RBI in spring-break contests with Frostburg State University and the University of Rutgers-Newark Mar. 20. Cutright enjoyed a 14-game hitting streak and was a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI in the Quakers’ doubleheader sweep of Mary Baldwin College Mar. 10.

Cutright leaves Guilford with the seventh-highest career batting average (.352) and in possession of the school’s career mark for most times hit by a pitch (14). Her 13 home runs and .965 fielding percentage both rank third all-time at Guilford. The 2012 Second Team All-ODAC pick also stands among the Quakers’ career leaders in on-base percentage (.421, 4th), runs (93, 5th), walks (38, 5th), doubles (31, 5th) and RBI (90, 7th).

When not playing softball, Cutright serves as a residence hall advisor, peer educator, sports information assistant and leader of Guilford’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The dean’s list student is regularly on Guilford’s Student-Athlete Honor Roll and will graduate with a degree in computing and information technology. She received Guilford’s Nereus C. English ’26 Athletic Leadership Award, Guilford’s highest athletics honor, last month.

Cutright helped coach Dennis Shores’ club to a 19-19 overall record, 5-15 in the ODAC. Shores could have as many as 17 returning letter winners next season.
