Game Report on Eastern Alamance-Eastern Guilford for the Mid-State Baseball Title on Friday night in Mebane

The Championship game for the Mid State 3A conference would be between 4 seeded Eastern Guilford Wildcats and 3 seeded Eastern Alamance Eagles. Taking the mound tonight for Wildcats would be Marque Johnson and Zack Littell would get his 2nd start in 2 days.

In the first Ryan Hackett would lead off with a single and then Andrew Robinson would bunt him over. Littell would get the next two batters. In the bottom half of the inning Littell would lead off with a solo homer. Johnson would struggle afterward but did settle down without allowing another run.

The Wildcats would go in order in the 2nd. McCray Williams would get a lead off triple but Johnson would get a strike out then a line drive to 2nd by Littell that would turn out to be an inning ending double play

Littell would KO 2 batter then walk 2 batters before getting his 3rd out. In the bottom of 3 Johnson would get 2 quick outs but then got into trouble when Kyle Edwards would single and Blake Walters would follow with another single and drive in Edwards. JT Kirby would double home Walters for the 2nd run of the inning making it a 3-0 ballgame.

Both teams would get 3 up 3 down in the 4th.

In the 5th Austin Koonce would get a leadoff walk. Justin Clark would pinch run and get a stolen base then Hackett would get an RBI single. Johnson would get the Eagles in order to bring the score to 3-1.

In the 6th Caleb Robinson would triple off of the left center fence and Johnson would get a sacrifice fly to bring the score to 3-2. The Eagles would get a leadoff single from Blake Walters and that would end the night for Johnson. Austin Koonce would come in and the Eagles got on him right away. Ben Walters would get a pinch hit RBI triple. Then McCray Williams would single him home. Cody Curry would deliver the final blow with a 2 run homerun.
