Track stars from Saturday on the 3-A level

Did not get a report from Coach David Blue, out at Northeast Guilford High School, but did see where he had two kids finish 1-2 in the 400 meters, at the 3-A Track Regionals yesterday….#1 DeAndre McGill with his time of 50.67 and I guess it was his brother LeAndre McGill in second place, with a time of 50.95 in the 400 Meters….

Speedster T.J. Logan from Northern Guilford posted wins in the 100 and 200 meter races, although Northern’s Jimmy Hollingsworth surprised us a little bit, finishing 2nd in both the 800 and 1600 meter runs, to a kid from Chapel Hill, Chris Reeder….Hollingsworth almost always ends up in first place in those two races, the 800 and 1600….

Southern Guilford had Reggie Gallaspy as a winner, with RP being part of the Storm’s 400 meter relay team, that took the top spot at the Regionals…..Malik Moseley, from Southern Guilford, got a first place finish in the 110 meter hurdles, of all things….

Northeast Guilford won both the 800 and 1600 meter relays and Gary Woosley, along with the McGill brothers and LeDante Berry were the quartet for the Rams on the relays….Gary Woosley from NEG grabbed second in both the long jump and the triple jump….Malik Moseley got third in the triple jump…

Thor Smith from Northern Guilford won the pole vault with a jump/vault of 13 feet/6 inches….

We probably had a few more names of local interest get in there, and if we missed you, send us your name and you will join the others on the fast track to success….

*****Did my Saturday afternoon workout, which included 28-40’s, so I know part of where these kids are coming from….And that was 28 forty yard sprints and not 40 of anything else…Either one will nearly kill you, but the running leads to a much cleaner death….*****
