Elon Track and Field Completes Competition at Duke Twilight

DURHAM, N.C. – Highlighted by junior Kimberlyn Holt claiming the title in the hammer throw, the Elon track and field team completed competition at the Duke Twilight on Sunday, May 5, at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Holt threw a distance of 52.80m, nearly 3-meters better than the runner-up, as the Southern Conference champion took home the title.

In other throwing events, Suzanne Martin had a heave of 42.74m in the javelin throw to finish third. Charlise Morgan was the runner-up in the shot put with a heave of 13.49m.

Tereza Novotna and Caroline McCaslin finished third and fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with times of 10:45.65 and 10:50.53, respectively. Haylee Dawe was fourth in the 5,000-meters with a time of 17:51.81, while Christine Pacewicz set a new personal-record in the race, crossing the line with a time of 18:02.90.

Megan Kirschling was the runner-up in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.65m. Veronica Luedke was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.39.
