Death in the Western Guilford Sports Community/Family tonight

We got reports earlier this evening that there was a death in the Western Guilford community tonight, with the passing of the father of WG Hornet football and baseball coach, Chris Causey…

The report of Mr. Causey’s death was coming in on facebook and twitter and we join many others in sending out our thoughts and prayers to the Causey family and to those in the Western Guilford community that knew Mr. Causey and knew him well…

Mr. Causey was a big part of the Western Guilford sports community/family for many years, going back all the way to the days when his sons, Chris and Bryan, were football and baseball players for the WG Hornets….

Keep the memory of Mr. Causey on your mind during this Memorial Weekend and keep the family and friends of Coach Chris Causey in your thoughts and prayers and send them a line if you get a chance…..

RIP Mr. Causey…….

  1. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Coach Causey and his family during this difficult time. Paul Causey was a great man of integrity, fun to be around and always supportive of Coach Causey and the student athletes at Western Guilford. He will be missed by the Western Guilford family.

  2. The Western Guilford Family has lost a jewel. We’ll never see a better example of a father, grandfather and sportsman. Anyone fortunate enough to spend a few minutes with Mr. Causey can easily understand why Chris is such a fine man and coach – he has had a terrific example to follow.

We will all miss Mr. Causey and our deepest sympathies are with all his loved ones.

  3. What a wonderful man Mr. Causey was! Always checking on players to see that they had cold drinks in the dugout or paying for their meal at an away game. He even would show up at a hot practice with ice cream for the guys. He was at all the practices and games in support cheering them on! We should all learn a thing or two from him and Mrs. Causey. Thank You Mr. Causey for a great role model you have been for us.

  4. Our deepest sympathy to the Causey Family. A Great Man, who will be deeplly missed, by so many! God took back one of his Angels. Meanwhile, while he was with us, he shared his example of kindness, caring and true sportsmanship. He is a legend of a Man and a remarkable family, who reached out to so many! We are coming from the Football side and really appreciated Mr. Causey being there to support our teams during the season as well as during summer conditioning. He was a true pillar of our school’s community. Let us not forget mentioning Mrs. Causey’s impact on our son, as his Kindergarten teacher. Much love and respect, and heartfelt sorrow!
