Page Pirates Wells Fargo Cup Winners for the Metro 4-A Conference:
Metro 4-A: Despite great spring sports seasons for its conference rivals, Page takes the Conference Cup and holds off the competition with a solid spring season of its own, consisting of a league title in men’s tennis and runner-up performances in women’s soccer and men’s golf. Grimsley just edges out Southeast Guilford to finish second thanks to a conference crown in women’s soccer and a second-place finish in men’s tennis. Southeast Guilford settles for third despite league titles in softball, men’s golf, and men’s outdoor track and field as well as a tie for first in baseball. Conference Standings: Page 94, Grimsley 87, Southeast Guilford 86.5, Southern Alamance 77.5, Western Guilford 72.5, Dudley 44.5, Ben L. Smith 34.

Sophomore year- Metro all conference, Burlington Times-News First Team, District 6 player of the year, Metro tourny MVP, Rockingham Co. Christmas Tourny MVP. Scored 523 pts.

Junior year- Metro player of the year, Metro all conference, District 6 first team, Burlington Times-News player of the year, Eastern Alamance Christmas All Tourny team. Scored 482 pts.

Big question of the day from the Glenwood area of town…..
*****If two boys that play football for the Glenwood Recreation Center football team are seen throwing a football on the Glenwood Football Field, is that the same thing as a ‘Bear Sighting’, since they are both members of the Glenwood Recreation Center ‘Bears’ football program??? The News and Record seems to be trying to live off of all the bear sightings around town in recent weeks and I just wondered if this would be considered one too….Technically you would have to say yes, right???*****
