Greensboro College Announces John Trice as Athletics Director

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) — The Greensboro College Athletics Department announced the hiring of new Athletics Director John Trice on Thursday. Trice also serves as Head Men’s Soccer Coach for The Pride and will enter his third year on staff in 2013.

“I am thrilled for this opportunity to further build on the foundation Dan Cetrone paved over the last 14 months, and to continue promoting academic and athletic excellence at Greensboro College,” said Trice.

In his three years at Greensboro College, Trice has been instrumental in numerous aspects of the Athletics Department. He has overseen the development of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and has helped form an award winning relationship with the Special Olympics of Greensboro. In addition, Trice has served as the athletics liaison for the Early Action Team, which aids in student-athletes academic success. He also assisted in the planning and coordination of the Athletics Department’s annual Battle of the Teams event, a department bonding activity between each athletics program.

During his successful tenure as the head men’s soccer coach, Trice has helped the program regain its status as a conference power, with an 11-5-4 mark in 2012, including an appearance in the USA South Conference Championship match, the first for The Pride since 2007. Greensboro finished tied for the lowest goals against average in the USA South and had six players honored on the USA South All-Conference Team. Overall, eight players have earned USA South All-Conference recognition in his two years at the helm of the program.
