+++++Craig T. Greenlee(Winston-Salem Journal) notes on Celeste Burgess from December 12, 2012…..+++++
A year removed from middle school, Celeste Burgess never imagined that her freshman season of high-school basketball would turn out the way it has at Mount Tabor.

It didn’t take long for Burgess, 6-foot-2, to establish a reputation as hard-to-stop playmaker. In her first varsity game, she scored 22 points in a season-opening 62-32 blowout road victory at Winston-Salem Prep.

“What I remember most about that game was the atmosphere,” said Burgess, who averages 15 points and seven rebounds. “The stands were full, and people on both sides yelled and screamed for their teams. It’s been so exciting.”

Burgess is a power forward, but her skill set is better suited to her being a swing player who plays guard and forward.

“Celeste is a well-rounded, five-star player,” coach Rick Anderson said. “She’s the type who can deliver whatever is needed at any give time.”
