We are really spoiled in Greensboro. NewBridge Bank Park, home of the Greensboro Grashoppers, has an extensive complex of pipes that makes it almost impossible for the field to flood.
Other teams are not as lucky. The Burlington Royals came up with a solution that many other teams regularly use – bring in a helicopter. The Burlington Times was at the stadium and recorded this “Vine” (a six second video clip). Enjoy.
The Burlington Times is now reporting that the helicopter was not enough the dry the field in time.

That is a piston driven helo, a turbine(better yet twin turbine) should be much more effective due to the high amount of heat put off by it’s engines, allowing the air to absorb more moisture. Driers for race tracks use a turbine towed by a truck. Cost of operation is much higher though.
