Wisconsin quarterback, Danny O’Brien, recently announced his plans to play his senior year for Catawba College. Under a new coaching staff led by Head Coach Curtis Walker, O’Brien will look to finish out his college career by trying to turn the tide of Catawba’s 4-7 record in 2012.

Walker spoke about O’Brien stating, “We are very excited to have the opportunity to coach Danny. He will provide us with some great competition in our fall camp. He gives us someone with great experience and poise.”

O’Brien graduated from East Forsyth High School in 2009 before enrolling at the University of Maryland where he redshirted his first year. In 2010, O’Brien became the ACC Rookie of the Year after throwing for 2,438 yards and 22 touchdowns. O’Brien transferred to Wisconsin in 2012, where he played behind Joel Stave before choosing to come to Catawba for the 2013 season.

Catawba will open its season at home against West Liberty on September 7 at 1:30 p.m.
