2013 East-West Football

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

A.J. Simeon Stadium in High Point, N.C.
*****Re-paving of the Grimsley/Jamieson Stadium parking lot currently underway, and thus the move to Simeon Stadium in High Point. for the East-West All-Stars Football game….*****

Game begins at 8:00 p.m.; Fireworks at halftime.

The first East-West All-Star Football Game was played in 1949. Coach Bob Jamieson, the Director of the NCCA, received the keys to the stadium from the contractor at 4:00 pm the day of the game. Coach Jamieson then went onto the field at his school and coached the West team against the East’s Leon Brogden, Wilmington’s legendary coach.

The football game has featured hundreds of future NCAA Division I stars and many of the boys who have suited up have gone on to successful careers in the NFL. Over 3400 North Carolina boys have had the chance to wear the royal of the East or the scarlet of the West in this wonderful rivalry.

The 2013 All-Star Game will be played at High Point’s A.J. Simeon Stadium. Fireworks at halftime are a crowd favorite and the game is shown on Time-Warner’s “On Demand” channel.

Andy– Why did they move the game to High Points Simeon Stadium after it being at Jamison Stadium for all these years? Coach Bob founded the game and NC Coaches Clinic.
    Just asking — Charlie Pannell

Parking Lot issues at Grimsley High School…The entire lot around the stadium is getting a makeover…..Nothing but one big gravel hole over at Grimsley right now in the lot, in front of the stadium…The schedule for re-paving the lot fell right in the window date for the East-West All-Stars Football Game and thus the move to Simeon Stadium in High Point….

My suggestion would be to contact the North Carolina Coaches Association and ask for Phil Weaver….He would know for sure….
