Just a different street:Great East-West All-Stars Football Game at Simeon Stadium last night(Attendance 6,523 and not too shabby)

LAST NIGHT’S ATTENDANCE WAS 6,523 and that’s not too bad at all, when you look at the move over to HIGH POINT…..

14-7 West last night….Excellent effort by the West to win and to give the West their first win of the week in the East-West All-Star Games….

Great game that came down to the wire and Tyriek Able, from Ben L. Smith High School, got the interception for the West to preserve the victory, on the very last play of the game…..

Solid effort all the way around by our Guilford County kids with Able, James Rogers(High Point Andrews), Justin Neal(Page) and Kemar Bachelor(Southern Guilford) all making major contributions to the win for the West…..

Great game, great crowd, super atmosphere and a fine job done by the North Carolina Coaches Association with their move of the game to High Point’s Simeon Stadium and it all went off without a hitch last night….

Same great game, same great feel of football back for another season, “Just a different street” last night, when it comes to where the game was played….

Plus on the way back to Greensboro, I saw rain, but no rain in High Point during the game last night…..

*****Good job Coaches Association and good job High Point, in hosting the football game last night. And a heck of piece of running by #3 David Burgess/RB(Freedom HS) for the West last night….Two TD’s and long run of 80 yards on a middle screen play and he took the ball up the right sideline to the promised land/end zone, to help give the West the win….And don’t forget that pick by Tyriek Able(Smith HS) to protect that West finish….The East was attacking the West end zone with a true fervor as the clock was winding down….Great game guys and all of the Guilford County kids/young men, made our people proud….*****

Spalding Game MVPs
