Who will take the Piedmont Triad 4-A Conference this season?

There seems to be a lots of leans toward High Point Central for the Piedmont Triad 4-A Conference title this season…..The Bison return preseason All-State selection Germaine Pratt, along with wideout Juwan Foggie and several other first-class athletes…..HP Central lost QB Justin Johnson and P/K Will Johnson(no relation) and both of those young men were headed to Winston-Salem State, but even without Johnson & Johnson plus more, High Point Central is poised to go after a title this season….

Many of the coaches that we have talked to see High Point Central as the top team and then East Forsyth, Northwest, Ragsdale, Glenn and Southwest Guilford coming on in from there….NWG has that four-man backfield led by Scott, Dix, Murphy and Harding and they have kids like Shelton and Sugg up front….Ragsdale has some solid defenders on the way back with Bryce Walker and Xan Swaim leading the charges, while we wiil still need more time to evaluate our other Guilford County member, Southwest Guilford and we have A.L. Logan on that assignment and he should have us a detailed report within a few days….East Forsyth is always strong and they live off of large numbers, with some players still looking for jerseys, as the first week of practice draws to a close….

For the Conference Player of the Year, most feel that Pratt will take that, but there may be some others waiting in the wings, ready to snatch up that award…..

PT-C Coaches:
Ragsdale-Tommy Norwood
High Point Central-Wayne Jones
East Forsyth-Todd Willert
Northwest Guilford-Joe Woodruff
Glenn-Aldine Payne
Southwest Guilford-Eric Rainey

How the Conference will stack up and could be:

High Point Central
East Forsyth
Northwest Guilford
Ragsdale
Glenn
Southwest Guilford

Others see it as:
High Point Central
Northwest Guilford/East Forsyth
Ragsdale
Southwest Guilford
Glenn

And then there is the crowd that calls for:
East Forsyth
High Point Central
Ragsdale/Northwest Guilford
Southwest Guilford
Glenn

Plus there is another look that shows:
High Point Central
Ragsdale
Northwest Guilford/East Forsyth
Glenn
Southwest Guilford…….

Plenty of looks, now how do you see it???

  1. I like NW Guilford to win it…..they are collectively as good as anyone at RB position, nobody is talking about how experienced they will be on the offensive line and how well coached they are…..when they have lost games in the last few years, they have been in nearly all of them down to the wire…..this group has some stars out there and play only 4 road games…..plus they have the attitude…..this program is strong and getting stronger…..they remember that rainy night at HP Central when nothing went right in the first half and then outplayed HP pretty convincingly …..watch these guys….they have a plan.

  2. I see this conference shaping up like this:

    High Point Central
    Northwest Guilford
    East Forsyth
    Ragsdale
    Glenn and Southwest Guilford tie

  3. East Forsyth will take it and they have the best players, best coach and the big numbers. East Forsyth all the way. East Forsyth conference champs.

  4. HP Central
    NW Guilford
    East Forsyth
    Ragsdale
    SW Guilford and Glenn tie

@Joe.. NWG was dominated on the field in High Point that rainy night, your guys never quit I’ll give you that, but that score wasn’t even close to the real beatdown HPC gave the favorites NW Guilford that night.

@Danny.. Big numbers are something to consider but remember only 11 play on the field for anyteam at any given time, and when HPC lines up against any of the conference foes this season they will have the best 11 at any given time.

One should always be modest and I am being that for the most part,… BUT you guys have no idea, this Bison squad is LOADED…

  5. @Bison Pride

Glad you are so confidant in the Bison from Central High Point. You guys were loaded last year and couldn’t make it out the 1st rd. This year you guys are loaded with a QB that hasn’t taken a snap at QB in a Varsity game. Every year it’s the same crap out of HPC

  6. There are 3 teams that all could take the conference crown this year. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was a 3 way tie again. This conference every year is the toughest in the State.

Central – Loaded at WR, D-line, and DB

EF – Loaded at LB, RB, and WR

NW – Loaded at O-line, D-line, and RB

  7. Ragsdale has to be in the top three in any listing that you write down. Ragsdale has the most experienced coaching staff in the conference and they will win the close games.

    High Point Central
    Ragsdale
    Northwest
    East Forsyth
    Glenn
    Southwest

  8. Guys let’s just respect others opinions as far as who will take this conference even though I highly doubt that anyone will take this conference crown from Central. And as far as Central’s Qb. You can drive yourself to think that this kid isn’t ready if you want too. You will come to learn that this kid (Jamiel Mack)is the real deal at Qb. A comment was made that we were loaded last year but we were young and inexperienced but yet finished 2nd in the conference and with an overall 9-3 record. You can blind yourself all you want about this years Bison team being the same old team as usual but when those friday night lights come on, you’ll see why they have been picked by 99% of everyone to win the conference.

  9. When do the Bison scrimmage and who are they playing? I want to see if they as good as everyone says.

  10. Ragsdale is too young. Next year they should be good but not this year, even with their coaches. Central is very talented, as is NWG and EF. All three have good coaches. One of those 3 will take it. Great conference his year.

  11. You guys are sleeping on southwest and this year probably isn’t the year to do it. I know in previous years they’ve been terrible and ill be the first to admit it but they’ve installed new weapons! They have depth at every position and I wouldn’t exactly call them back ups if you know what I mean. Their starting running is named Christian Shipmanand he is a very big factor. He is a very athletic guy. They have 3 slot backers named Richard Mack, Tamarius Howze, and Johnston Mccorkle who are all lightning fast and have great field vision. They’re starting wide receivers are Jeremiah Brown and Justin Hensley these guys will take a hit or two and keep truckin’. I haven’t seen many of their backups but I’ve seen a few! Their second string running back Taylor Richardson is not the quickest guy but he is built like a truck and in past 7 on 7s showed his ability to make catches and get up field. One of their back up receivers is Malcolm Greene and he is a guy who loves contact and is not afraid to get popped! They have 2 Qbs Eric Cunningham and Devonte Cross. Cunningham has the speed of a running back and Cross has a serious cannon! I don’t want to even get started on the defense. I’m not saying these guys are going to win a state championship, I’m just saying dont overlook them!

  12. The Piedmont Triad should be very interesting this season then.

    Buckle up your seatbelts!!
