Jaquel Richmond(Wesleyan Christian Academy) has committed to play college basketball for the Houston Cougars….Richmond made the committment last night….Richmond will join other area players that have hit the trail toward Texas in recent years, with Deuce Bello and Quincy Miller(Westchester Country Day) both bounding for the Baylor Bears, just a couple of years back…Must be a basketball frenzy coming out of Texas, leading top high school talents into their state, for college hoops possibilities…We seem to be losing many of our top Tar Heel talents to the Lone Star state….Am I alone in this way of thinking???

The News and Record has the post of Richmond, breaking away and going far away off to college, at Houston…Guy Lewis(long-time Cougar coach) laid the framework for a solid program, for the Houston Cougars….CLICK HERE for N&R post…..

  • Cool story bro said,

Dang, when did Jaquel Richmond change his name to Theo Pinson?

  • Clarification said,

That N&R post refers to JaQuel Richmond going to Houston, not Theo Pinson. Pinson committed to UNC in May.

  • What?!? said,

Man I was about to say when did Theo decommit from UNC?

  • Andy Durham said,

Thanks guys….I think they are all starting to run together…..Richmond, Pinson, Houston…..Good call on the comeback there and best of luck to them all….We need to get our beat on just football here for a while….We are covering baseball, football, basketball all at the same time and now time to head over to baseball…

Thanks again for the flip and I guess Pinson did commit to UNC back earlier…They only stay for such a short while these days, you better not blink….
