Southwest Guilford Cowboys Football Report with Brian Miller

Brian Miller, senior at Southwest Guilford High School, has a look back at the Cowboys’ victory this past Friday night, over the Rockingham County Cougars…..

The Cowboys got off to a promising start last week against the Rockingham County Cougars. A turnover for the Cowboys early on there half of the field could have hurt them, but the defense stepped up big.

The Cowboys then drove down field and went up to a 7-0 lead. Later in the quarter the Cowboys had another solid drive to go ahead 14-0.

In the 2nd half a swing in momentum went the Cougars way, leading to a Cougar touchdown making it 14-7.

Eventually in the 4th quarter the Cowboys offense prevailed and the defense shut down the Cougars leading to a 28-14 victory.

It was a major team effort by players on both sides of the ball with many players making key plays that contributed to the victory.

The Cowboys start off the season 1-0 led by new head coach Eric Rainey. The first win of the season has the “Cowboy Crazies” talking and the school is ready to see what the rest of the season brings to The Ranch.
