College Men’s Soccer Final – Guilford 3, Shenandoah 2

WINCHESTER, Va. – Jake Elsey’s goal in the 75th minute gave visiting Guilford College a 3-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win at Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon.

Elsey’s second goal of the season capped the Quakers’ (2-2-1, 1-0 ODAC) comeback from a 2-0 deficit after the Hornets’ Andrew Ralli scored twice in the game’s first nine minutes.

The Quakers tied the score with a pair of quick goals in the 34th and 36th minutes by Francisco Bribiesca (Greensboro, N.C./Page) and Rob Sandidge, respectively. The tallies marked the first of the season for both students.

The game remained tied before Colin Dillon set up Elsey’s game winner with just over 15 minutes left to play. The Quakers kept the Hornets (0-5, 0-1 ODAC) without a shot for the final 22 minutes.

Senior Michael MacVane made five saves in goal for Guilford, which held a 21-10 edge in shots. Rodrigo Casteriana made six stops for Shenandoah.

Guilford visits Ferrum College Tuesday (9/17) at 7:00 p.m.
