Football (1-2)

Elon vs. Appalachian State, Saturday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m., Rhodes Stadium

• Elon will return home for its next two contests – vs. Appalachian State and vs. Coastal Carolina.
• Prior to Saturday’s game, Elon will induct three into the Elon Sports Hall of Fame at 1:30 p.m. in Whitley Auditorium (open to the public). The 2013 class consists of Holly Andrews (Women’s Basketball, ’04), William “Tank” Hardin (Baseball, ’90) and Pramote “Ter” Malasitt (Men’s Tennis, ’05).
• Since 2007, the Phoenix has gone 23-11 in Rhodes Stadium.

Men’s Soccer (4-0-1)
Elon vs. No. 15 Wake Forest, Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m., Rudd Field
Elon vs. William & Mary, Friday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 p.m., Rudd Field

• The Elon men’s soccer team will host a pair of matches this week on its home pitch at Rudd Field with No. 15 Wake Forest on Tuesday, Sept. 17, and against William & Mary on Friday, Sept. 20. The Phoenix defeated both teams last season with the maroon and gold pulling out a 2-1 overtime win over the Tribe and upsetting the then-13th ranked Demon Deacons at home, 1-0.
• The Phoenix defeated UNC Wilmington, 3-1, in its home opener last Saturday, Sept. 14. Elon junior forward Jason Waterman scored two goals and had an assist in the match against the Seahawks. Senior midfielder Daniel Lovitz also had a goal in that game for the Phoenix, his first of the season.
• Dating back to last year, the Phoenix has been unbeaten in its last nine regular-season matches and 12 of its last 13 overall, including post-season play.

Men’s Tennis
UVA Ranked Plus One Tournament, Friday-Sunday, Sept. 20-22, Charlottesville, Va.

• Elon’s Cameron Silverman and Stefan Fortmann head to Charlottesville, Va., on the campus of Virginia to compete in the UVA Ranked Plus One Tournament this weekend. The tournament features only nationally ranked players.
• Silverman won his singles flight at the Duke Fab Four over the weekend in Cary, N.C., posting a straight sets win over Duke’s 22nd-ranked Michael Redlicki in the finals.
• Silverman is currently ranked 34th nationally in singles. He and Fortmann are ranked 16th nationally in doubles.

Volleyball (4-7)
Elon vs. Radford, Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m., Alumni Gym
49er Invitational
Elon vs. Tennessee State, Friday, Sept. 20, at 4:30 p.m., Charlotte, N.C.
Elon vs. South Carolina State, Saturday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m., Charlotte, N.C.
Elon at Charlotte, Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m., Charlotte, N.C.

• Elon went 2-1 in the Elon Phoenix Classic over the weekend, picking up wins over Gardner-Webb and North Carolina Central. Junior Kris Harris and sophomore Ana Nicksic were named to the all-tournament team after their strong play.
• The Phoenix will host Radford on Wednesday in a 6 p.m. match. Last year, the maroon and gold defeated the Highlanders 3-2 in Radford, Va. After Wednesday, Elon won’t play in the friendly confines of Alumni Gym again until Oct. 11.
• Elon will play in its final tournament of the regular season in Charlotte, N.C., in the 49er Invitational this weekend. The Phoenix will face Tennessee State on Friday at 4:30 p.m. then close out the tournament against South Carolina State at 10 a.m. and host Charlotte at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Women’s Golf
Elon at William & Mary Invitational, Sunday-Tuesday, Sept. 15-17, Kings Mill, Va.

• The women’s golf team is playing its second tournament of the fall, the William & Mary Invitational, which got underway on Monday.
• The Phoenix shot a first-round 302 on Sunday to sit third in the nine-team field.
• Sunna Vidisdottir (72) and Emily Brooks (74) sit in ties for second and seventh, respectively, after the first round of action.

Women’s Soccer (4-1-1)
Elon vs. Liberty, Friday, Sept. 20, 5:30 p.m., Elon, N.C.

• Elon returns home on Friday night to host the Liberty Flames at Rudd Field. The game will be broadcasted live on Phoenix All-Access.
• Nicole Dennion scored her sixth goal of the season on Sunday versus Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, helping Elon to a 3-0 win. Dennion is tied for the Southern Conference lead in goals.
• Dennion, Jennifer McGorty and Kendall Stanley were named to the UNCW Courtyard Marriott Wilmington Invitational All-Tournament team on Sunday after helping Elon to a 1-1 record.
