Elon Women’s Cross Country Moves up in Regional Rankings

ELON, N.C. – The Elon women’s cross country team moved up a position in the NCAA Division I Southeast regional rankings as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday, Sept. 16.

The Phoenix improved to No. 12 in the Southeast Regional poll after opening the year at No. 13 in the preseason regional poll. Elon won its season-opening meet on Aug. 30, at the Wake Forest Relays and was the runner-up in its home event, the Elon Invitational, this past Saturday, Sept. 14.

The maroon and gold will take this week off before returning to action at the Charlotte Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 28.
