GREENSBORO, N.C. – Meredith College jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first half en route to a 4-0 women’s soccer win over Guilford College Wednesday night in a non-conference game at the Armfield Athletic Center.

Jessie Davis opened the scoring at the 6:02 mark and she also assisted on the next two goals for the Angels (3-1-3). Danielle Lee scored both the second and third goals for Meredith, the latter coming off a corner kick from Davis.

Meredith continued to control the action in the second half and Lee once again figured prominently, as she picked up an assist on the game’s final goal, which came courtesy of Eliza Evans.

Guilford goalkeeper Abby Gove was under constant pressure but she played well, picking up 12 saves in the game. Three goalies combined on the shutout for Meredith, with starter Kelsey Hopper picking up the win.

The Quakers return to action Saturday (9/21) against Old Dominion Athletic foe Virginia Wesleyan at 11:00 am. The Marlins are one of the top teams in the conference and are ranked regionally.
