Greensboro College Pride Volleyball Tops Mary Baldwin 3-0

STANTON, VA—The Greensboro College Pride volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, with a 3-0 victory over Mary Baldwin.

Greensboro took the first game of the match by a score of 25-14. In that game, The Pride used an eight point run to close out the game. Greensboro would not let up the momentum in the second game of the match, by using a six point run winning the second game 25-15. In the third game of the match, Greensboro had control from the opening serve winning the game 25-9.

Greensboro had great performances by Liz Widenhouse with 17 kills, and Cortland Phillips who passed for a match high 31 assists. Holly Anders would add a team high 12 digs for The Pride in the match.

With the victory, Greensboro College will move to 5-7 and 1-0 in the USA South. The Squirrels will fall to 0-8 and 0-1 in the USA South.

Greensboro will be back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Rocky Mount, NC for a USA South tri-match when they face NC Wesleyan and William Peace.
