Greensboro College Women’s Soccer Falls To Covenant 4-0

GREENSBORO, NC–The Pride women’s soccer team (1-4, 0-1 USA South) fell to Convenant College (3-5, 1-0 USA South) 4-0 on Friday afternoon in the USA South opener.

Covenant got on the board at the 7:34 mark taking an early 1-0 lead. The Scots extended the lead at 16:54 making it 2-0.

Greensboro had a strong second half effort with six shots, but was unable to find the back of the net. Covenant converted on two opportunities, winning the game 4-0.

The Pride held an 8-6 shots on goal margin, but trailed the overall 15-14. Mary Randolph and Tiffany Walters led the way with three shots apiece. Lauren Greeson andMelanie Raton contributed two shots also. Jessica Thatcher took the loss in goal, despite making six saves.

Greensboro women’s soccer will return to action on Sunday, September 22 at Methodist. The kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
