Greensboro College Pride Women’s Soccer Falls 2-0 To Methodist

FAYETTEVILLE, NC—The Greensboro College Pride women’s soccer team returned to action on Sunday with a 2-0 loss at the hands of The Monarchs of Methodist University.

Methodist got the scoring started in the 29th minute with a goal by Taylor Cavazos. The Pride had several looks to put in an equalizer late in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net. The game would go into the half with The Pride trailing 1-0.

In the second half, Greensboro would apply pressure to The Monarchs back line but was unable score. Methodist would add one more goal in the 65th minute to make the score 2-0.

Greensboro College put off 4 shots in the game, with Meghan Cole and Tiffany Waltersputting shots on goal. Jessica Thatcher had five saves in goal for The Pride.

With the loss, Greensboro will fall to 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in the USA South. Greensboro will return to action next Sunday, when they travel to Rocky Mount, NC to face The Bishops of NC Wesleyan. Game time is set for a 1:00 pm start.
