We hear a lot about Lorenzo Featherston, but Jalen Gavin may be the biggest player on that Page team and he has become one of the biggest players in Guilford County….
Gavin is one of the top players in the state….That little man can play some football….
Good job Dudley, Northern Guilford, Southeast Guilford and Eastern Guilford….Those four are getting it done and they are not looking to loose….All four now (5-0) after tonight’s games…..
Southeast goes over to Page in two weeks(Oct. 11), Northern has Eastern Alamance coming up I believe next week and then Northern will see Eastern Guilford, I believe on October 11….Not has Page and SEG later on the year…..
These four at (5-0) are getting the job done this season….Fun to watch and fun to follow….Good for Guilford County to have such good teams…..Being unbeaten don’t come easy and this teams are making it real interesting this year…..
Saw Southwest Guilford for the first time tonight and their back Rick Mack(5’8/160) is a real gamer too….That kid can run, catch and play some defense too….

Andy you are so right. Jalen is a young man who has been a dominate force on both sides of the ball. What makes him so special is he is not just a great player, but an awesome student. I know he will be someone who will continue to represent Page and Guilford County well in the future. Great games tonight from the Panthers, Nighthawks,Falcons,and Wildcats 5-0 is special. Congrats to the Nighthawks 34 in a row AWESOME!!!
After watching two games in a row from HPC I must say they are very overrated! Yes they are a solid team and nothing wrong with that (against 3A schools)…but they are not a top 10 dominate 4A team that their fans keep saying they are. East Forsyth will beat them!
Another great win for NW. Their offense is really clicking right now running and passing. The Vikings are 5-1 going into conference play and they will be a tough match up for anyone they face. GO VIKINGS!!!!
Another week and Coach Donovan Jackson continues to destroy the Northeast Rams….congratulations, only to one season to ruin a program….Principal Williams and AD Sharpe should be ashamed and publically apologize to McLeansville

Yea, I thought it would be good to see another face over northeast. But I was wrong, this is almost perfect for pursley.Just imagine all the work he must have put in to have them win for 20+ seasons. I’m also disgusted with the playcalling and coaching over there now. Jackson looks like a 2 year old when he doesn’t get his way. I found out last night the way he let’s those kids act got ne a permanent ban on playing Forsyth county teams. Pursley please come back!
Rams got their message across for this week and we need to end the headhunting for today…
The negative Northeast comments aren’t going to change anything and they don’t do the kids any good….
Couple of hard hits here, but we need to end it at that, cause we know Coach Pursley is not coming back and NEG will have to press on…
We need to do the same and let’s lay off of the program for the rest of this post…
I know the fans have concerns and feelings about this and you have left some of those here, but I do feel that is enough for this week…
Why is it you address the northeast comments?….and I understand why you do. But you say nothing to the people who hate on northern every week?
NW has a good team and a great band, so why do they pump in that obnoxious music all throughout the game. Let the band play when they score and at halftime. All we heard was pumped up dance music all night long. If I were a band parent I would be mad.
Most of anti-Northern talk is childish talk coming from adults acting like kids…
Much of it you have to take like water coming off of a duck’s back….Let it roll on…
Northern is winning and the kids are doing a good job…
We have written very positive posts toward Northern in our wtitings and last year we took down more comments and negative posts than I could name in the rest of the day….
We still remove quite of bit of negative info on them and other schools and on coaches….
Tough line there where it all starts to meet…Fine line there and a tough line there between personal hits and program hits….
Much of what we see is silly banter and other parts get way too personal…
When people begin to smack talk on individuals they can get very cruel/flat out mean….
Remember, I have to read and see all of this all day….
I would like to see more positive talk and with this as an open forum, way too much is going to end up being seen here than it should be….
We are trying to run a public service here, but as you have to edit, delete, change, try and make things fit, you end up not having time to enjoy the info/site….
Can’t please everybody and you can’t stand guard 24 hours a day….
Hope the wins out-number the losses at the end of our time together….

You should be ashamed at the way you handle this situation. The attacks against Northern on this website are no different then those attacks on Northeast. In both situations the kids are the ones who are suffering. At Northern, they are being taught that skirting the rules and cheating to win is acceptable….as long as you win….at Northeast, the kids are left losing a future Hall of Fame coach…..(Tommy Pursley)….
The NEG fans are mad because Coach Pursley is gone…There is no doubt, he was an outstanding coach, but he chose to leave on his own from what I could tell and we interviewed here last year at the site and we gave him a good send-off….
It is never easy to replace a quality coach like Coach Pursley and the new staff is struggling now, but they will still have to get their chance….
I was covering NEG back when Daryl Barnes was coaching there and he had tons of success after Northeast had experienced many lean years following the redistricting that sent many of their top players to Eastern Guilford and Eastern was better than NEG for a long time after that…
Then Coach Barnes brought them back around and after him they had Coadh Barrow for a while and did not have success at all then…
After that, I think it was, Coach Pursley came in and go it rolling again….
Now he leaves and it has become lean….They will still win some more games this season one would think and then at the end of the season they can review all that has happened….
Beefs with the Coach and te AD still need to be taken to the school….We are not the hiring or firing zone here for Guilford County teachers and coaches….
I also do not feel that Northern Guilford is teaching any wrong doing at their school….They have good leaders up there in Will Laine principal and Brian Thomas AD and since they came in, they have worked very hard to keep things in order and above board and all of them answer to the Guilford County Schools and Mo Green, so you can still contact them if you have a problem….
Lots of frustrations out there, but there shouldn’t be, the Guilford County Schools are having a good year in football…Look at Dudley, Northern, Southeast and Eastern….
If your school is struggling, hang in there and the adults should not make such a big deal over it anyway, this game(football) belongs to the kids….
Can’t believe how many haters there are in this area when it comes to our HS Football programs. You all should really get a life! Why don’t you try to be positive and get involved with your programs? The fact is you sit there and play Saturday morning QB and you don’t have the first clue about anything. If you are so knowledgeable why don’t you go get involved with your team and help the cause instead of sitting in your living room on the internet bitching like a middle school girl! Its tough to find good coaches who will give up 40 hrs a week from their families just to see your kid have a memorable HS Football experience. Just cause you coached your sons 9 year old Pop Warner team doesn’t give you the right to come on here and blast our area coaches! You have no clue whats being called from the stands so shut up! That is all!

The reason they play the music in between plays is to get our Football Team hyped up! Our band is in their on little world…If they actually played during the game our PA people would not have to play music!
