Greensboro College Pride Football Falls to LaGrange 35-21

LAGRANGE, GA—The Greensboro College Pride football team dropped their 2013 USA South opener to LaGrange on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 35-21.

In the first half, it was all Panthers as they would go into the half up by a score of 21-0. In the second half, the Greensboro offense came to life.

Midway through the third quarter, Greensboro would find the board with at two yard pass to Dexter Russell Jr from Ryan Throndset to make the score 21-7. After that drive, LaGrange would score quickly to make the score 28-7.

In the fourth quarter, LaGrange would push the score to 35-7 before The Pride would find the board again. To find the end zone, backup quarterback Mac Graham would connect with Raymond Bridges for a 40 yard strike for the first of his two touchdown passes on the day to make the score 35-14. On their last drive of the day, Graham would hit Tavares Thomas Jr for an 18 touchdown to make the final score of the game 35-21.

For Greensboro, they were led on defense by Desmond Beasley-Jones with five tackles, including one tackle for loss.

Greensboro College will move to 1-3 overall on the season, and fall to 0-1 in USA South play. The Pride will return to action next Saturday, October 5th as the travel to conference foe Ferrum College. Kickoff for the game is slated for 2:00 PM.
