High School Football Saturday Morning rewind:Only two Unbeatens left in Guilford County and are they on a ‘Collision Course’?

After last night’s dust settled and the fog cleared, we could see that we only have two Unbeaten teams left in Guilford County and that would be the Southeast Guilford Falcons(7-0) and the Dudley Panthers(6-0)….

It appears that the two Metro 4-A Conference foes could well be headed on a ‘Collision Course’ with Dudley having Southern Alamance, Grimsley, Page and then Southeast Guiflord on November 8, remaining on the schedule….

Southeast looks toward Smith, Southern Alamance, Grimsley, and then that last game of the regular season at home versus Dudley….

This does make for an interesting scenario if everything holds up….

The very big Page vs. Grimsley game comes up this week and it will be the Pirates’ home game at Grimsley’s Jamieson Stadium…Grimsley coming off of a win and Page off of a loss and this should make for some real good competition…Whirlies put up a lot of points against Southern Alamance and Page has taken care of Grimsley the past several seasons….This coming Friday night, ‘The Great American Rivalry’ continues….

What about High Point Central knocking East Forsyth from the ranks of the Unbeatens????

Here is what we said about that game here yesterday….

High Point Central…Choose a limb, take your pick of any tree and stand out on a limb, but this could turn out to be the real ‘upset special’ here….Central can pull this off and if they do, I mean when they do, it will send a sonic boom around the county….

I think I went something like (8-4) on my picks, but that HP Central pick got me back to the driving/picking range….

Major battle with High Point Central vs. Northwest Guiflord coming up this Friday night…This ought to be one of the best in our area for this week and maybe one of the best in the state…Jamiel Mack and his passing attack at HP Central, versus the running power of the Northwest Guilford Vikings….

We hope to add more to ‘The Rewind’ later on today….

But one quick note and then we will hit the street…

Eastern Guilford at Northern Guilford this coming Friday night too and you hate that the Wildcats fell the week before their big matchup with the Nighthawks, but you have to see how a team recovers….Remember what the poster said a few weeks badk?

EG began the season at (7-0) a few years back and then coouldn’t find the win column the rest of the way…’Dig In’ time now for the Wildcats and they still have Western and Eastern Alamance left after Northern…WA topped EA 10-7 last night….

More here later today….

  1. Northern is still unbeaten I don’t care what the standings say. Until somebody beats them on the field they are undefeated.

  2. Gonna be close to over 150 former players at that Dudley game. We might have to go sit on the other side. FALCON PRIDE!!

  3. Well said check the records, 1 loss in the books. no matter what you say – you are no longer undefeated. Sorry!

  4. Right now we are focused on Ben L. Smith our next game. If both SE and Dudley are undefeated for the last game it will be great for both programs. Dudley is strong and has a A-1 class act coaching staff. Win/Loss or Tie it will be the game to be at!

  5. Yep long way to go before the end of the season. Might not be wise to count your chickens before they hatch.

  6. Gfan’
You are so right.Seems as if Southern Alamance might have been looking to this friday’s match up with Dudley and took Grimsley lightly.

  7. Grimsley to me is not as bad as their record. I saw them play Ragsdale. They have had a lot of injuries and if those players are back, they should be tough. I was very impressed with #6. I think anyone would want him on their team. No cupcake in the Metro this year.

  8. Only Northern fans would think its alright to break the rules and win! I bet you guys still think you’re State Champs in basketball too! HA!
