GREENSBORO, N.C. – Senior Michael MacVane turned back all nine shots he faced as the Guilford men’s soccer team earned a 0-0 tie against the Roanoke Maroons in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC)game Wednesday night at the Armfield Athletic Center.

Guilford honored its seniors prior to the game and MacVane played a big part in Guilford ‘s tie versus higher-ranked Roanoke.

The Quakers (6-6-3, 3-4-2 ODAC)played with great energy in both the opening half and the first overtime period. In the first extra stanza, Guilford had two excellent scoring chances but both headers were wide of the mark.

In the second extra period, MacVane made sure that Roanoke (9-4-2, 5-2-2 ODAC) did not score despite having several good chances.

Guilford hits the road for its final two games of the year. On Saturday the Quakers take on Washington and Lee in an ODAC battle.
