Men’s Soccer: Hampden-Sydney 1, Guilford 1 (OT)

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – Guilford’s men’s soccer team concluded its regular season with a 1-0 (OT) setback against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) foe Hampden-Sydney Tuesday evening.

It was the sixth overtime game of the season for the Quakers (6-8-3, 3-6-2 ODAC) and the fourth time in the past six games the team has gone into an extra stanza.

Guilford goalie Michael MacVane turned back all four shots he faced until Liam Hogan scored on a header at the 93:22 mark, lifting the Tigers (9-5-3, 6-3-2 ODAC) to the win.

With this result, Guilford needs a Virginia Wesleyan win or draw against Randolph-Macon to qualify for the ODAC Tournament. The tournament pairings will be released Wednesday night.
