Big First half leads Southwest Guilford Cowboys over Porter Ridge
Carl Druebbisch opened the game up with an early goal on a volley to put the Cowboys up 1-0. Soon after Holden Hmiel scored to bring the score to 2-0 and extend the lead. Porter Ridge got right back in the game with a quick strike to bring the score to 2-1. With 3 minutes to go in the first half Evan Thomas had a phenomenal strike that found the back of the net to bring the Cowboys to a 3-1 lead. The score would remain that way all the way through the second half and the Cowboys will be moving on to Round Two.
The Cowboys will be traveling to face the #1 seed Charlotte Garinger on Saturday and the time is to be determined.
