Good news for Coach Rodney Brewington, former head coach of the Smith Golden Eagles and now with the Winter Springs Bears down in the Orlando, Florida area….Up for ‘Coach of the Year’ honors and going for the District Title, on Friday night….

Winter Springs (5-3): Bears, winners of five of past six, will aim for their first district title Friday.

Update on the Smith backs:(Smith Golden Eagle backs, back when Smith went (10-2) in 2010.)

Elijah Dominique Jordan(RB), 20, 1102 Eagle Road, is charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflicting serious injury and one count of possession of a firearm by felon.

Jeffery Bernard Sims II(QB), 20, 3804 Overland Heights, was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Keep Elijah Jordan and Jeff Sims in your prayers, these young men need all we can send up on their behalf right now….Those guys used to sit beside us at GreensboroSports.com events and they used to stand beside their teammates at Ben L. Smith High School and we need to stand beside them now….Remember Elijah Jordan and Jeff Sims when you say your prayers later on tonight and again tomorrow and the next day….We thank you and we hope they get the chance to thank you one day too…..
