College Men’s Soccer News – Guilford’s Sandidge Named Second Team All-ODAC

FOREST, Va. — Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men’s soccer coaches selected Guilford College junior Rob Sandidge (Sanford, N.C./Lee Christian (Cape Fear C.C.)) to the second-team all-conference squad Monday.

Sandidge, a 6-0 forward, started in 17 games this season and led the Quakers with five goals, including two game-winners. He also led the Quakers with 12 total points and added two assists. Sandidge ranked 12th among ODAC goals leaders and 16th in points per game (0.71). One of his best performances came in the Sept. 21 win over Eastern Mennonite University when he tallied two goals and an assist, for a season-high five points in the match. He scored the game-winning goal in overtime of the Quakers’ 2-1 victory at Ferrum College and collected the ODAC’s Player of the Week Award Sept. 23.

Eighth-year head coach Jeff Bateson’s Quakers ended the season with a 6-9-3 overall (3-6-2 ODAC). Bateson expects 24 letter winners to return next season, including Sandidge.
