High Point Home Educators at New Garden Friends School Boys Basketball

New Garden Friends School (2-0) dominated High Point Home Educators (2-3) on both ends of the court en route toa 101-44 win.

The Bears led by senior Kanayo Obi-Rapu Jr. scored a game-high 40 points and added four assists, 3 boards and eight steals. 27 of his 40 points came in the third quarter when he drilled five three-pointers and threw an alley-oop to the high flying senior, Sterling Holland to cap off his special night.

Obi-Rapu Jr. dedicated his performance to his best friend Josh Level, who passed last season. It was a performance that Level would be thankful for.

Freshman LaJarius “L.J.” McCoy had a team high 26 points for the Home Educators coached by John Aker. This was the second meeting between High Point and New Garden within a two week span.

NGFS senior bigman Ikenna Smart had a double-double with 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in two quarters of action. Holland added six points, two steals and an assist in limited playing time.

New Garden Friends School will face New Hope Christian Academy on Tuesday, Nov. 26 in Thomasville, NC.
