GAME NOTES:
– Northwest Guilford overcame some first half jitters and used a run sparked from their defense to beat Northern Guilford 66-62. The decisive run came during the 4th where the Vikings were able to regain the lead from the Nighthawks and hold on for the victory in a great high school basketball environment.
– Nick Powell led Northwest with 21points. Colson Everett did a wonderful job for the Vikings on the boards as he pulled down a team high 13 rebounds to go along with his 10 points for his first double-double of the season.
– The Vikings got huge contributions from Seniors Tim Kilpatrick, Kris Keefer, and David Everest at various points during the game to aid the Vikings in a true “TEAM” win. Sophomore, Jaylen Gore, finished with 10 points and 6 assists while Freshman, Jalen Spicer, contributed 9 points 4 assists and 4 steals.
– Marcus Curry paced the Nighthawks with 23 points. S. Hildreth and M. Furlough chipped in with 8 points apiece for Northern.
