Numbers to be on the lookout for, as the Charlotte Catholic Cougars and Elijah Hood come to Dudley HS on Friday night

Here are some of the offensive numbers to be on the lookout for, as the Charotte Catholic Cougars and Elijah Hood head to James B. Dudley High School, to take on the Panthers, on Friday night….

Kickoff is set for 7:30pm in this Round Four NCHSAA 4-A Football Playoff Game……

Charlotte Catholic Cougars….
The Cougars have run the ball 613 times this season and they have thrown just 62 passes in 2013….

Of the 613 running plays, FB Elijah Hood has carried the ball 319 times, for 3,541 yards and 51 TD’s….Hood averages 252.9 rushing yards per game and 11.1 yards per carry and that is based on a 14 game season….

Cougar QB Ryan Miller has gone 28-62 on his passes for 506 yards, with 9 TD’s and 5 INT’s…
Miller also has 397 yards on the ground….

Other Charlotte Catholic backs that figure into the equation, include Drew Tomsho with 791 rushing yards and Nicholas Rizzieri who has 397 yards running the ball…..

Tomsho has 3 touchdown catches coming out of the backfield, while Tyler Pumeno has scored 5 TD’s off of passes caught from Cougar QB Ryan Miller….

Pumeno has 244 receiving yards and Tomsho is at 119 yards receiving….
James Powers has 101 receiving yards on the season for Charlotte Catholic….

  1. I know Hood was a highly praised RB going into the State Championship game last year against Northern. NG held him way below his average. With Dudley’s defense, do you think it will be the same outcome. NG blew CC out by 40pts

  2. Hood will get 3-4 TDs. Dudley will still win.

    what kind of shape is the field in? maybe a little mud will slow him down

  3. Maybe Hood has stepped his game up a lot this year, but you are right, Northern held him in check and the Dudley defense is going to be very tough to run against, no matter who the opposing RB’s are….
