*****Elijah Hood from Charlotte Catholic High School on the loss to the Dudley Panthers on Friday night, in Greensboro:
“Congrats to Dudley they earned that 1 cant take nothing away from them 2 walked in 1 walked out #respect been fun cc community I love u all” – Charlotte Catholic All-America running back Elijah Hood took to Twitter after his team’s tough 20-15 loss to Greensboro Dudley in the N.C. 4A state semifinals.

+++++More to add later on, but the Dudley offense did give Catholic and Hood numerous opportunities in the second half last night, but the Cougars could not take full advantage of those chances and why????? The ‘Dudley Defense; stood up, time and again….Dudley even inserted a couple of extra big linemen, when Catholic had the ball on 4th and 2 at the Dudley 7, and Dudley’s ‘D’ stopped them/Hood cold….Catholic had the ball at least three times down around the red zone and they could not convert…Catholic did out-score Dudley 9-0 in the second half, but it did not add up to a win, as the Panthers got the victory….Big Albert, Big Chris, Big Khalil, Big Randall, Big Tong, Big Elijah Harris, Big Cromartie, Big Tre, Big Emmanuel, Big Darius, Big Mychal, all of those defenders were BIG last night and they had to be, ’cause Catholic was knocking at the door’…..(And Catholic even led early, 6-0.)

Dudley saw good offense last night from Christian Cokeley, who is emerging as a primary Panther receiver, you saw solid/strong running from Lamarc Watlington, some nifty running moves from Antione McCray, #5 Connell Young had a huge game, both running and receiving and you saw BIG catches from Yau Shol and Darius Dean, who made a two-point grab in the bakc of the end zone…..Emmanuel Moseley is like the starting pitcher on this team and he deserves the ‘Win’….Tough to stand back there and take it all and do it all, but that is what Moseley has to do right now..The ‘good’ with TD passes and runs, the ‘bad’ with fumbles and near interceptions, you have to hang in there when you are the starting QB on a team headed to the State Championship Game….

The good, the bad, the ugly and it all looks real GOOD for the Dudley Panthers, after last night’s win in Round Four….

More to come later on and much more here on Dudley today, since we were at that game last night….

Outstanding job by Marquell Cartwright and Justin Lea with three touchdowns each for High Point Andrew last night….Lamar Raynard was extra strong when going to the air last evening at Simeon Stadim in High Point and again, a super win by the Red Raiders over the Pam Pack from Washington, N.C. and now on to Kenan Stadium for the Red Raiders and their shot at the 2-AA Title, next Friday night…..+++++
