Looks like Wake Forest is ready to name new football coach:Dave Clawson coming from Bowling Green

The word from ‘Country’ Dan Collins at the Winston-Salem Journal is that Wake Forest University is set to hold a press conference on Tuesday and at that time, they will name Davd Clawson their new football coach…

Clawson will replace Jim Grobe, who stepped down after 13 seasons at Wake and his departure took place last week…

Clawson has experience as a head coach at Bowling Green and he led his team to Mid American Conference title last week…Clawson has been at Fordham, Albany, Buffalo, Tennessee, Richmond and other stops along the way, as an assistant and as a head coach…..

  1. Jim Conner just said on ABC 45 that he thinks this is an excellent hire….Dave Clawson to Wake Forest.

  2. Did a little research on the coach and discovered that he is 10 games above 500. Wake should have watched what Duke did and grab a good coach who has a national reputation as a winner. Wake will continue to struggle. But then again, how many coaches would be willing to come to Wake?
