SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced today, Dec. 10, that Elon women’s basketball player Lenaira Ruffin has been named the CRONS Freshman of the Week.
Ruffin scored a career-high 12 points off another career-high five field goals in Elon’s game at NC State last week. She went 5-of-10 from the field, including one three pointer, and also pulled down three boards. The Burlington, N.C., native also dished out two assists and tallied three steals without a turnover in 28 minutes of play. Ruffin is the third Phoenix player in four weeks to earn this award.
Elon returns to action in Alumni Gym for the first time in three weeks on Saturday, Dec. 14, when it opens SoCon play against Samford at 7 p.m.
